Summer is here - At last!!

When will it rain??? We've had almost a week of hot sunny weather!! It still doesn't help England beat South Africa though.

And it doesn't help the shop either. After our best week we've had one of our worst now. It could be the weather or that summer holidays have now kicked in, but Newark has been quiet all week and not just for ourselves.

No toyfair today, Sunday, either so thats not helping, but Amazon and the website are doing very nicely, thank you very much.

Mansfield Toyfair

Well at least the sun was shining today, but as regards the fair unfortunately we didn't do very well. Not a lot to say really it just didn't go our way, except for a couple of die-casts I managed to pick up that we'll be able to sell on for a nice price, Luvvly Jubbly as someone once said!!

The shop though had its best week so far and the music from the Cadenza String Quartet in the Buttermarket yesterday (19th) was excellent. It made for an extremely pleasant day.

Toyfair - Kings Lynn

One of the smaller fairs is at Kings Lynn, unfortunately it's not one we do too well at, and today was no different. I could count the sales on one hand, well less than one actually, and if it wasn't for a presale we wouldn't have covered the cost of the table. That's how slow it was.

All packed up and home by 3, that includes the hours drive. Just in time to cut the grass, damn no rain today. Still sales on Amazon were good and there's still Doctor Who tonight, though I think I know who he regenerates into. And just for good measure there's Top Gear and a race in a Datsun and a Bullet Train in Japan.

That reminds me we do have some excellent pictures from Top Gear and Doctor Who, but you'll need to come to the Toyfairs to get them or to our shop in Newark's Buttermarket.

Still next stop Mansfield. Let's hope for better things.

Doctor Who

Arriving soon from Character Options are the poseable figures for series 4 featuring Donna Noble, or is that 'The Doctor Donna'? Also the Sontaran Stratagem Gift Set.

But of course there is so much more than just Doctor Who at timewasshop.co.uk and Time Was... in Newark's Buttermarket (upstairs near the lift if you didn't know already).

Morley Toyfair

Well after a slow week in the shop we did the Morley Toyfair in Morley, Leeds. A wee bit of a journey up the A1M and M62 but we arrived in dry weather. Can't say the same for the journey back, mixing dry spells with torrential rain.

The day itself wasn't too bad considering this was the first time that we had done this particular fair. Though we do need to weigh up the cost of the petrol used to get there, especially in these times of extortionate fuel prices.

Depsite a thrilling ending to Doctor Who last night, who'd have thought of two Doctors, well three if you count Donna???, not too much Doctor Who stuff dematerialized off the stall.

Still it's back to Kings Lynn next week.
