Toyfair - Kings Lynn

One of the smaller fairs is at Kings Lynn, unfortunately it's not one we do too well at, and today was no different. I could count the sales on one hand, well less than one actually, and if it wasn't for a presale we wouldn't have covered the cost of the table. That's how slow it was.

All packed up and home by 3, that includes the hours drive. Just in time to cut the grass, damn no rain today. Still sales on Amazon were good and there's still Doctor Who tonight, though I think I know who he regenerates into. And just for good measure there's Top Gear and a race in a Datsun and a Bullet Train in Japan.

That reminds me we do have some excellent pictures from Top Gear and Doctor Who, but you'll need to come to the Toyfairs to get them or to our shop in Newark's Buttermarket.

Still next stop Mansfield. Let's hope for better things.

Doctor Who

Arriving soon from Character Options are the poseable figures for series 4 featuring Donna Noble, or is that 'The Doctor Donna'? Also the Sontaran Stratagem Gift Set.

But of course there is so much more than just Doctor Who at timewasshop.co.uk and Time Was... in Newark's Buttermarket (upstairs near the lift if you didn't know already).

Morley Toyfair

Well after a slow week in the shop we did the Morley Toyfair in Morley, Leeds. A wee bit of a journey up the A1M and M62 but we arrived in dry weather. Can't say the same for the journey back, mixing dry spells with torrential rain.

The day itself wasn't too bad considering this was the first time that we had done this particular fair. Though we do need to weigh up the cost of the petrol used to get there, especially in these times of extortionate fuel prices.

Depsite a thrilling ending to Doctor Who last night, who'd have thought of two Doctors, well three if you count Donna???, not too much Doctor Who stuff dematerialized off the stall.

Still it's back to Kings Lynn next week.

Lincoln Toyfair

Well Sunday the 29th saw us at Lincoln again, they do seem to come round very quickly, maybe thats why it was a bit quiet, or is it this Credit Crunch?. But having said that we did do more than in previous Lincoln fairs for a while.

Anyway whats going to happen with the Doctor?? Is he regenerating or is there something to do with that thing on Donna's back??

Does it mean we'll have to put signs on our collectables 'Yesterdays Doctor'??

With all those discussions it's a wonder that we did actually sell anything. And then to top it all just when we were loading the cars back up the heavens opened, and then when we got home within in hour it was blue skies. We just can't win!!

Huntingdon Toyfair

Sunday the 15th saw us at the Wood Green Animal Centre at Huntingdon again. And again it was a very successful day, not even time to have a wander around the animal centre!

A firm favourite today was Hary Potter vehicles and of course Doctor Who. What was pleasing is that our new line of pictures, which aren't on the website but are in the shop in Newark, had a lot of attention and we did sell a Tinkerbell and Death Star. That's two pictures not a cross between Disney and Star Wars!!

Next stop Lincoln, let's hope things are as good there.

Spalding Toyfair

On a hot sunny day in June, the toyfair came back to the Springfield Centre at Spalding, Lincolnshire. It doesn't seem five minutes since we were there last.

If it was hot and sunny outside it was even hotter inside. A quiet day I think was had by all, maybe due to the nice weather. Unfortunately on my many wanders around both halls I was unable to spot that bargain for myself. Although there were some terrific pictures there of Tinkerbell and Star Trek and Nightmare before Christmas to buy that I saw, ohh they were ours to sell!!

Despite everything I just have one thing to say - Thunderbirds Are Go!! Thunderbird 3 has been sent on a mission.

Things are quiet on most fronts but we are ticking by nicely and Doctor Who's still on the box which is a bonus.
